Location

This traditional newly refurbished beautiful two storey villa is situated half way between the Bay of Pollensa and the charming old town of Pollensa. Twisting cobbled streets lead to Pollensa’s central square Placa Major, where many bars and restaurants can be found.
Puerto Pollensa stretches along a sweeping horseshoe bay lined with white sandy beaches. The pretty resort has evolved from a little fishing port that served the old Roman town on Pollensa a few miles inland. At the beach, you can find all the usual water sports enjoyed by holidaymakers and facilities and equipment are available for hire at the marina. Glass bottomed boat trips will take you along the beautiful coast to Cap Formentor where you can view some of the beautiful beaches not accessible by car. The ancient burial caves on the outskirts of Cala San Vincente are worth a visit if you are in the mood to tour.

In Puerto Pollensa there are a selection of shops and boutiques which supply you with most things that you need for the duration of your stay. There are also lovely local markets to take advantage of – one of the liveliest on the island takes place in Pollensa old town square on a Sunday morning, and provides locals and tourists alike with fresh produce, locally produced handicrafts, carvings, leather goods, ceramics and lace. Market day in Puerto Pollensa is Wednesdays, where stalls are set up in the Church Square. The port is home to some of the best fish restaurants on the island, but there is also a range of international choices which cater for most tastes. Nightlife is laid-back and a dinner followed by a stroll along Pine Walk is a popular way to spend the evening. For those who would like to dance the night away, there are nightclubs in Alcudia, a few miles to the south.

In Detail

Ground Floor

From the hallway, a beamed opening leads into the villa’s spacious open plan living area. There is comfortable seating for eight people gathered around a coffee table and the room’s television, which has some satellite channels and a DVD as well as a Hi-Fi. The room has delightful arched patio doors which lead onto the long covered terrace adjacent to the pool area, and keep the room fresh and airy in the heat of the day. The room is traditionally decorated with white-washed walls, tiled floors and beamed ceilings, and has been recently refurbished so has a fresh new feel. There is a circular dining table and chairs to seat eight. The kitchen is American style and fully fitted with a long breakfast bar, and comes with a hob, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. There is a separate laundry room which leads off the kitchen where you will find the washing machine.

Through a door is one of the twin bedrooms and a separate shower room.

First Floor

Stairs with a pretty iron banister lead you to the upper level, and the villa’s remaining bathrooms. From the landing, doors lead to two twin bedrooms with sloping beams and light airy décor, and both of these rooms share the separate shower room. Further along the corridor is a large double bedroom with a pretty ironwork bed, which has its own en suite bathroom and small private sitting area and fitted wardrobes.

Outside

A long driveway leads you to the entrance. The beautiful pool area has outstanding views of the surrounding mountains and countryside, and is well equipped with pool side furniture. The pool itself is 9m x 4.5m, and 1-2m deep and has a Roman end with integral steps. Green lawns occupy two sides of the pool, and there are established shrubs and pretty flowering plants which frame the area. The charming covered terrace overlooks the water – the perfect place to hide in the shade and still keep an eye on the kids - and is the ideal location to take advantage of the barbecue and dine out in the balmy Majorcan evenings, or enjoy a glass of wine as the sun goes down.

"The villa was of a very high standard. The administration process was quick and efficient and although we had one or two hiccups on arrival, they were all dealt with very efficiently."

"The area has something for everyone - young and old, although you might need a car to get around if you were to stay off the main area. It is still within good fast road access of other parts of the island too."
