Villa Helga

This family villa is conveniently located in the popular resort of Cala’n Blanes on the west coast of Menorca, and you can find everything you need for your holiday here. There are shops and restaurants just 100 metres from the villa, and the local beach – considered to be the best in the area - is only a short walk away. There are plenty of cafes scattered around the cove and the water is calm and shallow, providing a child-friendly place for the whole family to explore.

Nearby is the second city of Menorca, Ciutadella which is one of the west coast’s biggests attractions. Ciutadella was the original capital of Menorca before Mahon, and is still considered to be the main cultural and religious centre of the island. Ciutadella has a rich and colourful history and its architecture reflects the influences of all the nations who have conquered the island in times gone by. The town is a maze of narrow alleyways and bustling streets, and has many traditional shops and cosmopolitan cafes, bars, restaurants and museums, all offering something different for its visitors to discover.

25 kilometres to the east, the beautiful town of Cala Galdana is surrounded by the dramatic rocky landscape of the Algendar Gorge. Here you will find a sheltered, horseshoe shaped bay, its white sands and sparkling turquoise water backed by limestone cliffs which are covered in natural vegetation. Often referred to as the ’Queen of Coves’, this glorious beach offers plenty of attractions to tourists including snorkelling, scuba diving, various water sports, cycling or simply exploring the coastal paths on foot. There are also chartered boat tours allowing you to explore the many coves and secluded beaches along the meandering coastline.

Maó, or Mahon as it is also known, is the island’s capital city and is 50 kilometres from Cala’n Blanes on the eastern side of Menorca. This city has world’s second deepest natural harbour, and a boat tour is a good way to explore the surrounding area. The historical port bustles with ships and yachts, creating a wonderful backdrop if you stop for a coffee in one of the cafes overlooking the harbour. There are plenty of places of interest throughout Mahon and you will see buildings of architectural and historical importance as you stroll around the city. If you are looking for evening entertainment, Mahon has an excellent selection of lively bars and restaurants, most of these being found near the main port. Some venues have live music and jazz on offer.

Ground Floor

The comfortable open plan living with a large archway to the dining area. Comfortable sofas are set around a coffee and a television which has some satellite channels. The kitchen is modern and well equipped with a fridge/freezer, oven and hob with the useful addition of a washing machine.

There are two twin bedrooms and a separate shower room with shower, WC and washbasin. The bedrooms are simply furnished with traditional dark wood furniture, colourful walls and tiled floors.

Outside

The villa is surrounded by its own lawned gardens, and the terrace around the rectangular private swimming pool is equipped with plenty of sun-loungers for relaxing in the sun. You can sit down comfortably for lunch cooked on the barbecue in the pleasantly shaded covered dining area adjacent to the villa.
