Villa Grace

Villa Grace is set in the Los Mojones area above the resort of Puerto del Carmen, only a 15 minute drive from the nearest airport, making transfer times quick and convenient. Puerto del Carmen Old Town is around a 10 minute walk downhill from the villa, as are the local shops, restaurants and beach.

The quaint old town has a picturesque harbour where you can watch the fishermen bring in their catch or dine in one of the fish restaurants overlooking the sea. The atmosphere in the old town is laid back and friendly, with traditional tapas bars lining the cobbled streets.

A 10 minute walk further on from the old town is the lively main promenade or ‘Avenida’ which runs alongside the beach and has a huge variety of bars, shops, international restaurants and amusements. The award-winning Playa Grande beach is sandy and gently sloping making it popular with families. You can hire parasols and sun-loungers here, or explore some of the other rocky coves which are dotted around the coastline if you would prefer something more private. There are several windsurfing and diving schools in Puerto del Carmen offering equipment hire and lessons, as the coastline offers the perfect conditions for both these sports. Swimming, running and cycling are also popular in resort, with several bike hire companies along the promenade.

The resort offers plenty of opportunities for retail therapy and has a range of excellent shops. Souvenir shops line the Avenida or you can browse an array of local crafts and up-market luxury goods at the Biosfera shopping centre.
Also nearby is the incredible National Park of Timanfya, a 50km square area whose landscape has been shaped by past volcanic activity on the island, the most recent eruption being nearly two centuries ago. Various tours are offered in the park, including a camel ride if you are feeling adventurous, and you can enjoy a meal cooked over natural geothermal heat at the El Diablo restaurant.

Approach

Villa Grace is set in the Los Mojones area of Puerto del Carmen and has spacious terraces around the villa. Flowering shrubs frame the entrance which is reached by a path beside the pool.

Ground Floor

The entrance hall is bright and airy and leads into a large living room with patio doors opening directly onto the pool terrace. The room is comfortably furnished with two colourful leather sofas which cluster around the room’s television, complete with satellite channels, and there is also a music centre. The separate modern kitchen has a dining end with a large dining table and chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with ceramic hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. A door leads to the utility room which has a washing machine.

The pale tiled hallway leads to three of the villa’s bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom. There are two further bedrooms on this floor, both with pretty twin beds, and these two rooms share a separate family bathroom.

Lower Floor

The marble stairway in the entrance hall leads down to the lower level, where the two remaining bedrooms, a double and a twin, can be found. There is also a shower room on this floor. There is a stair-gate at the top of the stairs, which is reassuring for those with small children.

Outside

Terracotta tiled terraces surround the rectangular pool (6.8m x 4.6m x 1.45-1.8m deep with ladder access) providing ample space to lounge in the sun in the privacy of the walled gardens. For those who prefer the shade, there is a large covered terrace, with dining furniture for eating out in the warm summer evenings. There is a further covered area which comes conveniently equipped with a fridge and a portable barbecue. The patio is surrounded by spiky plants and well tended pots providing a splash of green against the blue sky.
