Villa Estelle has a peaceful setting in the Castellans area close to the historic centre of Javea which is around a twenty minute walk downhill from the villa. The bustling port with its choice of restaurants and shops is a ten minute drive away and Arenal beach is just a few minutes further on. For golfing enthusiasts, the area has plenty of golf courses including two within easy reach of the villa, La Sella near Denia and Golf Javea near Benitachell.

Javea (also known as Xabia) is a lovely coastal town sandwiched between the capes of San Antonio and La Nao, midway between the Spanish cities of Alicante and Valencia. Easily accessible via motorway from the airports of both cities, the area is renowned for its warm summers and mild winters and attracts holidaymakers throughout the year. Frequented by smugglers and pirates during the Middles Ages, the caves and bays along the coast are now popular with snorkellers, sunbathers and scuba divers. Granadella and La Barraca are particularly popular with snorkellers and have beach bar facilities.

Castellans is on the edge of the Montgo natural park which is a paradise for those who enjoy walking or exploring. The region has a rugged beauty and varied terrain ranging from rocky crags to lush Mediterranean greenery. You can climb to the summit of Montgo at 753m or simply wander the coastal paths at a more leisurely pace. There are fourteen vantage points around Javea which have been specially prepared and waymarked to enable visitors to enjoy the exceptionally scenic views.

The Arenal area of Javea is around 6km from the villa and has plenty on offer during the summer months. The bay here has a golden sandy beach which slopes gently into the sea and is edged with bars, shops and restaurants and ice cream parlours. There is a wide range of water sports on offer including sailing, fishing and water ski-ing in the port area. The area is very family-friendly and the beach has good facilities including toilets and showers. In the evenings, you can take a stroll along the promenade and watch the street artists performing, buy souvenirs at the craft stalls set up along the seafront or enjoy the live music which fills the air.

The old town has a maze of narrow streets lined with historical townhouses and beautiful squares. There is also an excellent indoor market selling fresh produce including fruit, cheeses and locally caught fish. There are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants here, not to mention the traditional tapas bars and art galleries – a great place to explore during the heat of the afternoon.

For families with young children, Benidorm around 50km away, has plenty of fun and entertainment on offer at the Mundomar marine and exotic animal park and the Aqualandia water park. Benidorm is also home to the Terra Mitica theme park where you can try the renowned Tizona roller coaster which reaches speeds of 100km/hour.

Approach

This delightful villa is situated in the peaceful Castellans area amidst good-sized gardens dotted with palms and pines. The historic town of Javea is a twenty minute walk downhill from the villa.

Ground Floor

The villa has a large living room at its centre which is decorated in traditional white with terracotta tiles underfoot and a sloping beamed ceiling. The room is furnished with a large white sofa and armchairs and has central heating and an open fireplace to keep things cosy during the cooler months of the year. French doors open from here to the villa’s lovely garden room which is equipped with patio furniture and has full length arched windows offering superb views across the pool garden to the Mediterranean. The room also has central heating.

The dining room is at the far end of the living room and has a large rectangular table which seats up to eight people, with full length windows overlooking the garden. Adjacent to this room is the spacious and modern kitchen which has a door leading to the garden, barbecue area and pool via a flight of exterior steps. The kitchen is fitted with sleek white units topped with granite and has an eye level built-in oven, separate hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. It also has a circular breakfast table at its centre.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are accessed via a gallery leading from the living room. The master bedroom has twin beds and benefits from an en suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath, walk-in shower, twin washbasins, WC and bidet. There are two further twin bedrooms, simply furnished and painted in cool white with tiled floors. There is a stylish family bathroom with a bath and shower, a WC, washbasin and bidet, and a separate shower room which also houses the washing machine and has a door to a useful outside drying area.

Outside

The villa’s gardens are on a lower level to the accommodation, with steps leading from the kitchen door to the lovely Roman ended pool which is surrounded by a paved terrace and dappled with shade from the leaves of a large palm tree at the water’s edge.

To one side of the pool is a grassy area ideal for sunbathing on the recliners provided and there is a covered barbecue area where you can easily cook and prepare family meals to eat outside whilst keeping an eye on children splashing in the pool. The adjacent patio area has a dining table and chairs, with an umbrella providing shade from the sun.

There is a further area of lawn, ideal for children to play on, which has some natural shade and is bordered by shrubs. The sunny roof terrace has great views over the surrounding area to the sea.
