This large villa enjoys a great location at Alfanzina to the east of Rocha Brava. There is a local shop and restaurant only 500m from the villa and the nearest beach is approximately 2km away. Carvoeiro centre is within a few minutes’ drive.

Carvoeiro was once a quiet fishing village but has steadily grown in size over the years and has a flourishing tourist trade. The streets are lined with cafes, bars and restaurants. A stroll around the older streets of the town will take you to quaint shops offering local crafts for sale and market stalls selling fresh local goods. Local fishermen still bring home their catches to the harbour, which is a reminder of a past way of life.

The rugged coastline here offers a choice of sandy beaches, the nearest being Centianes Beach to the east of Carvoeiro, which is a long, sandy beach backed by steep cliffs and reached via steps. Carvalho, also known as ‘Smugglers Cove’ is a beautiful cove reached by a long flight of steps and a tunnel below the car park at the Club Atlantico development.

The Algarve has a huge choice of excellent golf courses, the nearest being the 9-hole Vale de Milho course just 1km from the villa. There are also tennis courts for hire within walking distance and plenty of other leisure facilities available in the surrounding area including horse-riding, water sports, walking and sightseeing. Nearby attractions for families include the Aqualand Water Park at Alcantarilha, around 15km away, the Slide and Splash water park just off the N125 near Lagoa and the Zoomarine park at Guia to the north of Albufeira.

Ground Floor

The villa has a spacious and attractive interior with white walls and tiled flooring throughout. The large living/dining room is comfortable and welcoming, with a sloping beamed ceiling, wood burning stove and blue-shuttered patio doors opening to the terrace. There are cream sofas, a 37 inch flat screen television with a selection of English channels plus a music centre with CD, radio and ipod dock and a large oak dining table and chairs.

The kitchen has smart blue and pine units and plenty of worktop space if you are doing any entertaining. It is well-equipped with a hob, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave and there is a washing machine and tumble dryer available for guests’ use by arrangement.

The villa has three bedrooms in the main house, one with a double bed and two with twins, and a separate family bathroom. The bedrooms all have air conditioning available (supplement payable) and have large windows letting in lots of light. Across the courtyard is a further twin bedroom with independent access and its own large shower room.

Outside

The villa is surrounded by delightful landscaped gardens with areas of lawn, flowering shrubs and palm trees. A gravel pathway bordered by scented herbs winds its way to the barbecue area and there is a roof terrace with sea views.

The free-form swimming pool is surrounded by a brick-paved terrace with sun-loungers lined up along the wall. Wide patio doors open from the living room to a rush-covered dining area with built-in circular seating overlooking the pool. Trailing with pretty bougainvillea and shaded from the hot midday sun, this is a lovely spot for leisurely family lunches.
