Villa Chloe

Villa Chloe enjoys a lovely countryside location, just 4km from the charming inland town of Felanitx. A tangle of narrow streets and interesting architecture, Felanitx is famous for its locally produced wine, ceramics and capers – the green pearls of the island. The market is held on Sundays in the town square, next to the 13th century church, and local wine, produce and crafts are available to purchase. Close by is the monastery at San Salvador, where spectacular views of the southern coastline can be seen - from the island of Cabrera to the bay of Alcudia.

Take a 10 minute drive, and you will reach the coast at Cala d’or. The modern day resort has evolved from the original fishing village that once was, but still retains a pleasant traditional feel. Four kilometres of sandy coves and creeks stretch along this area of coast, the largest of which is Cala Llonga which has a large marina. The town centre’s beach is Cala Gran, which is surrounded by a variety of shops, bars and restaurants, and is a pine fringed cove with a pretty sandy beach. Evening entertainment here is is centred around the pedestrianised zones, but is definitely low key. At the top of the hill here you can see the fortress and castle which played an important role in Arab resistance.

Nearby Port Colom is one of the many villages in the Mediterranean which claims to be the birthplace of Christopher Columbus. The traditional port of Felanitx, Port Colom is now a thriving holiday resort, with a modern marina at the south end and a lighthouse with splendid views. The beach here is popular with locals, and at the north end of the resort, there is a fishing port which has remained unchanged for generations, with its brightly coloured fishermen’s cottages and traditional style boats.

For those who enjoy a little more space and tranquillity, the beach at Es Trenc is a half hour drive and is a pretty wide sandy stretch which remains largely undeveloped.

Ground Floor

The accommodation at Villa Chloe is on two levels, with three of the bedrooms on the lower level, and two on the upper level.

The entrance hall of Villa Chloe is a furnished in a traditional way with white-washed walls and traditional tiled floors, and the wooden benches and chairs give you a sense of rustic comfort. A door leads into the living area, which has comfortable seating for your party and a delightful open plan fireplace. There is a television which has some satellite channels for your entertainment. A wide arch leads to the dining area, which is stylishly furnished with a large wooden dining table and seating for ten people. Close by is the large kitchen which is furnished with base and eye level wooden units, and has a hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. A door from the kitchen leads into the inner courtyard.

Also on this level is a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom. There are two further bedrooms which both have twin dark wood beds. Both rooms have pale walls and tiled floors, and one has beamed ceiling.

First Floor

On the first floor the villa the master bedroom has a double bed and an en suite bathroom. A further double room has the use of the separate bathroom, and there are two small living rooms for relaxing and enjoying the peace away from the family.

Outside

Outside the villa, the grounds stretch out before you giving a sense of space and tranquility. At the rear of the villa is a large rectangular swimming pool which is set in spacious paved terraces. There are ample sun loungers for those who wish to bake in the sun and parasols for those who wish to stay out of it. There is also a substantial built-in barbecue at the property which is perfect for hosting meals in the warm evenings.

Additional Information

There is electric heating for the cooler months. There is a mid week clean and towel change, and a weekly linen change. A cot and highchair are included. Minimum 7 night stay.
