Villa Benita

Villa Benita has a picturesque setting in Javea with views across mature palm trees. There are local bars and restaurants within walking distance and the Arenal Beach area is just a five minute drive away, as is the port with its array of restaurants and shops. There are two golf courses within easy reach – the 9-hole Javea Golf near Bonitachell and the 18-hole La Sella course towards Denia.

Javea (also known as Xabia) is a lovely coastal town sandwiched between the capes of San Antonio and La Nao, midway between the Spanish cities of Alicante and Valencia. Easily accessible via motorway from the airports of both cities, the area is renowned for its warm summers and mild winters and attracts holidaymakers throughout the year. Frequented by smugglers and pirates during the Middles Ages, the caves and bays along the coast are now popular with snorkellers, sunbathers and scuba divers. Granadella and La Barraca are particularly popular with snorkellers and have beach bar facilities.

The Montgo natural park is a paradise for those who enjoy walking or exploring. The region has a rugged beauty and varied terrain ranging from rocky crags to lush Mediterranean greenery. You can climb to the summit of Montgo at 753m or simply wander the coastal paths at a more leisurely pace. There are fourteen vantage points around Javea which have been specially prepared and waymarked to enable visitors to enjoy the exceptionally scenic views.

The Arenal area of Javea has plenty on offer during the summer months. The bay here has a golden sandy beach which slopes gently into the sea and is edged with bars, shops and restaurants and ice cream parlours. There is a wide range of water sports on offer including sailing, fishing and water ski-ing in the port area. The area is very family-friendly and the beach has good facilities including toilets and showers. In the evenings, you can take a stroll along the promenade and watch the street artists performing, buy souvenirs at the craft stalls set up along the seafront or enjoy the live music which fills the air.

The old town has a maze of narrow streets lined with historical townhouses and beautiful squares. There is also an excellent indoor market selling fresh produce including fruit, cheeses and locally caught fish. There are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants here, not to mention the traditional tapas bars and art galleries – a great place to explore during the heat of the afternoon.

For families with young children, Benidorm around 50km away, has plenty of fun and entertainment on offer at the Mundomar marine and exotic animal park and the Aqualandia water park. Benidorm is also home to the Terra Mitica theme park where you can try the renowned Tizona roller coaster which reaches speeds of 100km/hour.

Approach

Villa Benita is an attractive holiday villa with a private pool suitable for a group of family or friends travelling together. It is set in good-sized gardens with mature trees and has a pleasant outlook across palms and Mediterranean greenery. To the front of the villa is a parking area for two cars, with further parking available on the roadway.

First Floor

This modern villa has spacious accommodation for up to ten people. The main accommodation is on the first floor with a large living room with two comfortable seating areas furnished with sofas, armchairs and low coffee tables. A satellite television offers a selection of satellite channels for your entertainment and there is also a DVD player and a CD player. The room is decorated in cream and white and has a fireplace, a tiled floor and a beamed ceiling. Pretty arched windows let in plenty of light and provide a view to the gardens. There is a spacious separate dining room which has a large rectangular dining table providing seating for your party. French windows lead to an attractive outdoor dining terrace with steps down to the pool area.

The villa’s kitchen is fully equipped and has a fridge/freezer, integrated oven, gas hob, microwave and dishwasher. There is a doorway leading conveniently from the kitchen to a rear terrace which has a built-in barbecue.

There are two bedrooms on this floor, a twin room and a double, which share the use of a good-sized separate shower room which also houses the washing machine.

Ground Floor

An internal staircase leads to the ground floor bedrooms which are ideal for a separate family or a group of older children looking for a bit of independence. There is a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom, leading to a large family room which can sleep up to four people in two single beds and a bunk bed.

Outside

The villa sits amidst pretty gardens with mature trees providing privacy and natural shade. There is an area of lawn ideal for children to play on which has a trampoline set up under trees in the far corner. The 10m x 5m pool has a Roman end with integral steps and is surrounded by a charming walled terrace with ample space for sun-bathing on the sun-loungers provided. Palms and pretty flowering shrubs help make this a lovely spot for relaxing beside the pool. A garden lounge overlooking the pool is equipped with fridge ideal for cooling drinks and there is a table tennis table if you are feeling energetic.
