Within a half hour drive of the airport, this lovely apartment is ideally situated for those preferring not to hire a car as all facilities are within easy reach including local amenities, swimming pools and sandy beaches. Handy for your self-catering needs, the local supermarket is just 50m away and there are also some bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Vilamoura’s stylish marina is 1km from the complex with the beach a little further on from here. Golf and Tennis are both available nearby, the nearest tennis courts being around 1km away.

A road train journeys all around the resort throughout the day and evening and is a quick and easy way to get around. Vilamoura is an energetic, cosmopolitan resort, and one of Europe’s major golf destinations. Here you can try almost every kind of sport and leisure activity as there are six golf courses, sports clubs, a tennis centre, horse riding stables, a shooting range, night clubs, a casino and plenty of restaurants and bars. Golfers will be spoilt for choice with six different golf courses offering challenging play for all standards. For families with children, the Algarve has several water parks, the closest one to the apartment being Aqua Show in Quarteira.

Vilamoura means, literally ‘Moorish Town’. Today, the resort’s most popular attractions are the stylish marina and two sandy beaches, Marina and Falesia. The beaches have fine white sand, restaurants, bars and toilet/shower facilities so you can spend all day relaxing beside the sea in comfort. A huge range of water sports are available during the summer months including jet ski-ing, parascending, windsurfing and sailing. There are boat excursions and dolphin safaris from the marina or you can go on an exciting deep sea fishing trip.
The resort also has an excellent selection of designer boutiques, shoe stores, sports outlets, perfumeries and jewellers. The nearby fishing village of Quarteira has a daily fish, meat and vegetable market by the fishing port. It also has the Algarve’s longest promenade and if you happen to visit on one of Portugal’s religious holidays, you will see the local fishermen decorate their boats and celebrate to thank the sea for providing them with a living. Loule, a few kilometres inland, has a colourful Saturday market with a range of stalls selling fresh local produce and traditional handicrafts.

Approach

This newly refurbished apartment has a convenient location within a popular holiday complex in the Old Village of Vilamoura. The area is pleasantly landscaped and has green lawns, pines, palms and flowering shrubs.

Ground Floor

The apartment is situated on the ground floor of a low rise building and offers compact but well-furnished holiday accommodation for a couple or small family. The open plan air conditioned living/dining/kitchen is decorated in a contemporary, minimalist style and has a fireplace, a sofa, a glass-topped circular dining table beside the granite breakfast bar and a sleek, well-equipped kitchen which has a washing machine and microwave as well as a fridge, electric oven and hob. There is a television with some satellite channels and also a DVD player in the living area and patio doors open directly to outside.

The bedrooms are furnished in a similar modern style. There is one comfortable double room and a smaller room which has a single bed and a pull-out bed for one extra guest if required. Both rooms share the use of a separate shower room with a shower cubicle, WC and washbasin.

Outside

Patio doors open from the living/dining area to a private terrace with a small area of lawn screened by a hedge – perfect for breakfast in the fresh air, evening barbecues or simply for a bit of peace and quiet at any time of day.

The complex has lovely landscaped gardens and sun terraces with a choice of three communal pools to sunbathe around. For those preferring the shade, the area is dotted with trees and palms and there are other convenient facilities such as a poolside bar.
